Health Education on Prevention of Advanced Caries with Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) in Elementary School Students

Abstract

School students are individuals who are organized for a certain period of time and during that time their quality continues to be improved in order to achieve a goal, namely improving the quality of dental and oral health. The goal is to increase the knowledge and attitude of cadres about dental health and improve the skills of cadres in efforts to prevent dental caries disease with the ART technique. The organizers of the activity were Jeanne d'Arc Zavera Adam, S.Pd, M.Kes and the team. In addition, this activity involved third-level students majoring in dental hygiene at the Manado Ministry of Health Polytechnic, dental nurses from the Tateli Health Center, UKGS cadres and teachers. Students of SD Inpres Muntong are given education in order to reduce the rate of caries even more severely (DMF-T) and reduce the rate of pain due to caries so that it does not interfere with the learning process of students. This activity will be held in August 2024 at SD Inpres Muntong, Minahasa Regency. The results of the activity were carried out by ART patching on the students of SD Inpres Muntong which amounted to 127 people. The number of teeth performed by fissure sielant was 212 teeth, the number was more than the participants because each child had an average of 2 teeth that were filled. The conclusion of this activity is that the implementation of advanced caries prevention measures carried out at SD Negeri Inpres Muntong has gone well.
