Community Empowerment through the Production of Botanical Pesticides and Biotron+ Based on Sustainable Agriculture

Abstract

Sustainable agricultural empowerment activities with the production of botanical pesticides and Biotron⁺ through KKN UMD 207 Klampokan Village activities aim to overcome the problems experienced by Klampokan Village, Panji District, Situbondo Regency. The method used is participatory research, involving the research object actively during the research. First, field observations and interviews were carried out with stakeholders to gather information regarding the potential problems currently being experienced in Klampokan Village. After that, agricultural potential was discovered, and problems were also found in the form of the presence of plant pest organisms and a lack of subsidized fertilizer. The next stage was coordination between students, field agricultural instructors, and farmer groups to overcome this by empowering agricultural products in the form of botanical pesticides and Biotron⁺. Program execution was carried out, from making liquid organic fertilizer and botanical pesticides to Biotron⁺, accompanied by a field agricultural instructor. The result of sustainable agricultural empowerment activities is the socialization of product results, plant-based pesticides made from cigarette butts, also Biotron⁺, which is a three-in-one biochar innovation.
