Manual Pattern Making and 6S Implementation Training for Garment Small Industry in Sragen, Jawa Tengah

Abstract

Small-medium industry of garment operates in textile, one of which is in Sragen, Jawa Tengah. IKM Konveksi Solo Z produces various types of clothing based on customer order with customized design and color. After conducting observations, the lack of employee skills in manual pattern making resulted in limitations of accepting orders because of inability to develop new pattern designs, so production had to be outsourced to vendor. There is also lack of 6S implementation in the production area which makes the production process ineffective. Therefore, manual pattern making training and 6S socialization were performed, which received great response from employee showed by their positive testimony and feedback about the training. Employee skills on manual pattern making independently will encourage IKM to be able to produce a wider variety of product variants. The socialization and implementation of the new initial stage of 6S that has been carried out is the beginning of implementing a better 6S culture in the production area.
