Implementation of Solidworks Software Usage through Training to Enhance Vocational Students' Competence

Abstract

This paper addresses the pressing need for vocational students specializing in mechanical engineering to acquire proficiency in Solidworks, a vital skill for their future careers in the industrial sector. The utilization of Solidworks, particularly in 2-D and 3-D design, is crucial for designing bodies, machinery, and various machine components. However, vocational schools often face challenges related to limited computer laboratories and available computers for Solidworks practice. Mastery of Solidworks software is essential for vocational students, as it becomes a mandatory requirement for employment in the industry upon graduation. Through community engagement initiatives and technical drawing training using Solidworks software, we aim to enhance the competencies of vocational students, enabling them to seamlessly transition into the workforce or start their own businesses after graduation.
